This is an article in OregonLive about Modernism Week in Palm Springs. Unfortunately, it closes tomorrow. However, this occurs every February and is a nice respite from the harsh winters elsewhere. Much like here in Phoenix, I would assume the temperatures are already in the balmy 80s and great for any sort of outdoor activities.

One designer mentioned in the article is the renowned Southern California architect, William Krisel. Prolific and creative, Krisel found many a client in Palm Springs.

Krisel, known for his creative roofs, insists that not all Palm Springs building with a butterfly roof was designed by him. Which is quite true. Krisel’s designs are a confluence of various styles from International, American and Organic. He maintained a great deal of practicality and functionality that furthered the prolific nature of his career. Krisel is well worth a separate article.

If you adore modernist architecture, don’t miss next years Modernism Week. Palm Springs is a Mecca that can’t be skipped.
